In Boston, women working full time, on average, take home $0.76 to a man’s $1.00 — a gender pay gap of 24 cents. It’s worse for women of color.
AAUW Work Smart in Boston is an initiative of AAUW and the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement to empower women with the tools and skills they need to advocate for themselves in the workplace. This program is one part of the City of Boston’s first-in-the-nation pay equity model. Visit boston.gov/women to learn more.
Attendees can expect to learn:
– About the gender wage gap, including its personal consequences
– How to quantify the market value of their education, skills, and experience
– How to conduct objective market research and determine a fair target salary
– How to create a strategic pitch and respond to salary offers
