This workshop provides information on the computerized applicant tracking systems that screen your resume to determine if the hiring manager will see it. You will learn why these systems exist, how widespread they are, and how to optimize your resume so that it will get past the computer and into human hands. You will learn to identify key words in job descriptions, and you will learn the common formatting features and content issues that may cause you to get screened out.

After completing this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify keywords that you need to include in your resume
  • Recognize the formatting features that will “confuse” applicant tracking systems
  • Modify both the content and the formatting of your resume to improve your chances of having your resume looked at by a human being

Please note that there may be technology problems – either on our end or on yours – due to the high demand for remote services. We will do our best to present our webinars with as few issues as possible, but we will not be able to help troubleshoot issues you may encounter. If you do have problems, we recommend that you exit Zoom and try entering again. While our sessions won’t be recorded, we will be continuing to offer webinars throughout the coming weeks until we can come together for in-person workshops again.
