The Building Pathways Pre-Apprenticeship Program is looking for qualified people who want to jumpstart their careers as skilled building trades workers in construction and transportation. Building Pathways is a FREE 200-hour career exploration program with hands-on exposure to the trades – no prior experience needed. This program opens doors to an apprenticeship where you’ll earn as you learn and gain benefits, a pension, and more for you and your family.
Duration:
The program runs February 21 – April 15, 2022, and will meet Monday-Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Eligibility:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have high school diploma or GED/Hi-Set
- Be physically able to work in construction
- Be a licensed driver
- Be able to pass a drug test
- Attendance at a virtual information session

Description:
This free program prepares participants to pass the state nursing assistant exam. Training will take place at JVS Boston virtually. Trainees who successfully complete the Nurses Aide Training program are guaranteed full-time employment.
Duration:
This 14-week program rums from November 15th -March 2nd.

- For non-native, intermediate level English speakers ONLY
- Must commit to a full-time training & employment upon successful completion of the program.
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs

Description:
Students earn a certification in housekeeping safety from OSHAcademy and receive job placement assistance. The goal of this program is to help the students start their careers at premier healthcare settings in the Boston area. BEST partners with hospitals such as Mass General, Brigham and Women's, Spaulding Rehab, Beth Israel Deaconess, Boston Children's, Boston Medical Center, St. Elizabeth's, Newton-Wellesley, and many more.
Duration:
Program starts November 1st and will meet Mon-Fri, 10:00 AM-1:00PM for 4 weeks.
Eligibility:
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to communicate well in English.
- Able to work a rotating schedule.
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to pass an employer background check and drug test.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand for 4 hours.
- Available to attend an online class
- Are vaccinated or willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine if required by the employer

Description:
In this free program, you will prepare to pass the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) to become a certified pharmacy technician. The starting pay rate at hospitals is $18/hour and in retail is $16-18/hour. The Pharmacy Technician Training program includes individualized job placement services at local retail and hospital employers in the Boston area upon successful completion of training program.
Duration:
The program starts November 29th and lasts 12 weeks. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm.
Eligibility:
- Fluent or strong English skills
- Must have a desire to work as a Pharmacy Technician
- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent required, must be 18+
- Applicants are required to successfully complete CORI, SORI, background and drug screenings
- Applicants must commit to a full-time, 12-week training program and PCTE Exam Prep.
